[11:59pm-5:59am] HENDRIX Performer JIMY BLEU co-hosting Popular FM Radio Gospel Show
- Description:
- After 41 years of performing the ONLY authentic Jimi Hendrix show world-wide, former Columbia/Def Jam recording artist Jimy Bleu is also co-hosting a popular Black gospel music show on FM radio.
No, theres no Bible thumpin', nor any evangelistic preaching shouting the Word to you......but musically he can still bring you into the Kingdom with the show Gospel Revelations.
Now, this isn't your same ol' contemporary Christian type of a gospel show you may hear on other popular radio stations. During this show, along with the traditional "get-down hardwood floor stompin' " type of gospel, there is an hour-long old school segment which features classic gospel tunes from the "Golden Age of Black Gospel music" (1945-late'60's). The show features the longest-running 'Praise & Worship hour' which set the standard that most of today's gospel programming still follows.
There is also featured an hour-long segment implemented by Bleu of Pop/R&B/Rock/Jazz/Funk/Blues artists who have also performed or recorded gospel/inspirational tunes, as well as Gospel artists who perform secular songs. Although being quite controversial in the Christian community, this segment is widely supported & the list of artists is astounding.
Celebrity interviews are also spotlighted.
The woman who hosts the show, Ms. Stacy Wendell, is the gospel radio visionary responsible for bringing overnight gospel programming to WFDU radio (a non-Black radio station) 10 years ago. Since then her vision has blossomed into each night of the week featuring different hosts & genres of Black gospel music (traditional, jazz, caribbean, urban neo soul, holy hip hop, hymns, rhythm & praise, African).
Gospel Revelations airs EVERY Sunday at midnight into Monday morning 6am on WFDU 89.1FM (tri-state NYC area), streaming live on the web during that time frame on http://www.WFDU.FM.
The shows are also archived on the website for 2 weeks to be listened to at your leisure.
This is truly 6 hours of commercial-free Black gospel music that is not to be missed.
